Job description

Change Lives as a Dialysis Patient Care Technician

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will play a vital role in a dedicated team focused on providing exceptional care to patients facing renal failure. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN), you will engage in meaningful activities that directly impact patient well-being.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Patient Care : Provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatments. This includes gathering vital patient statistics before and after treatment, initiating, monitoring, and terminating treatments, and collecting blood samples as directed by physicians.
  • Technician Duties : Ensure excellence in care by preparing dialysis machines and maintaining cleanliness and safety protocols. Perform machine safety checks and keep accurate quality control logs.
  • Safety and Quality : Adhere to strict safety and quality measures while utilizing personal protective equipment and following all regulatory guidelines. Participate in staff meetings and continuing education opportunities to enhance your skills.

Qualifications :

  • A strong desire to work in healthcare and compassion for patients.
  • Prior experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus.
  • Willingness to safely handle acids and bicarbonate solutions.
  • Ability to distinguish primary colors.
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Completion of the USRC training program within 8 weeks of hire, demonstrating competency in hemodialysis.
  • CPR certification obtained within 90 days of hire as mandated by state regulations.
  • Patient Care Technician certification obtained within 18 months of hire, with ongoing maintenance in good standing as required.
