Position Overview :
Reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure & Business Applications and working in close coordination with the Senior Web Developer and Web Manager, the Web Developer will maintain and enhance the Museum’s world-class websites, best utilize our web platform tools and services, and develop new web features and capabilities.
Essential Functions
- Support mfa.org and other related web properties through full-stack web development.
- Maintain and enhance the Drupal content management system, through modules, themes, blocks, views, permissions, and other aspects of Drupal.
- Collaborate on the cross-department team with the Senior Web Developer and Web Manager, following the Agile development framework to respond to business needs and to progressively enhance mfa.org.
- Work to improve the integration of the Museum websites with other systems used by the Museum, such as TMS and Tessitura.
- Collaborate with the Director of IT Infrastructure and Business Applications and the Senior Web Developer to develop a technical website roadmap to best provide the museum community with web, image, collection data, and video as needs and capabilities evolve over time.
- Ensure all web development environments remain up-to-date and on the same version as the production environment.
- Provide backup support to the Senior Web Developer.
Requirements
Post-secondary degreeDegree in MIS or Computer Science, or equivalent experienceDrupal Developer Certification, and / or 2+ years of Drupal development experiencePossess a high degree of technical aptitude, a willingness and ability to learn new technologies rapidly, and a strong work ethicDemonstrated excellent organization, interpersonal, leadership, and communication skillsTechnical Skills, Must-Have Skills
At least 5 years of web development experience with proficiency in HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, mySQL, and JQueryMust have Drupal development experienceExperience with LAMP stack developmentExperience with BootstrapExperience with Agile project managementExperience with GitFamiliarity with Amazon Web Services and hosted videoFamiliarity with web accessibility standards, such as WCAG and W3CSalary and schedule :
Full-Time Salary, 35 hours per week
