Purchasing Supervisor Manufacturing

The organization is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to oversee day-to-day procurement activities and help streamline operations across the global supply chain.

Purchasing Supervisor Key Responsibilities :

  • Supervise all aspects of the purchasing function to ensure timely, cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
  • Support and maintain strategic supplier relationships to meet production goals and long-term sourcing strategies.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to quality standards, contractual agreements, and delivery timelines.
  • Assist in driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency, reduce risk, and control costs.
  • Support procurement budgets, purchasing forecasts, and spend tracking in alignment with business needs.
  • Help manage supply chain risks related to cost, quality, lead time, and inventory availability.
  • Contribute to the implementation of global sourcing strategies and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including operations, engineering, and quality to align sourcing with production requirements.
  • Utilize ERP / MRP systems to plan and execute purchasing workflows, ensuring data accuracy and timely material availability.

Purchasing Supervisor Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Materials Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP / MRP systems and strong Excel capabilities.
  • Experience with global sourcing and / or VMI programs preferred.
  • APICS or similar supply chain certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices is advantageous.
