Performs sonography in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Responsibilities include :

• Taking on call shift responsibilities as required by the department.
• Positioning patients and performing imaging procedures.
• Analyzing images and identifying issues with the quality of images.
• Taking appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.
• Preparing equipment and supplies.
• Selecting appropriate imaging parameters.
• Implementing safety standards and performing quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshooting, resolving, and / or reporting equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• When ordered, preparing and administering contrast media and / or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitoring patient condition continually and reporting / responding to changes in status as appropriate.
• Reviewing patient history and physicians orders.
• Educating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patients understanding and cooperation.
