This CNC Manager position oversees second shift operations with a strong focus on CNC programming, production leadership, and precision machining. Responsibilities :
- Lead and supervise second shift machining operations to meet quality, safety, and productivity targets.
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs to support efficient production and reduce cycle times.
- Oversee machine setup, tooling selection, process troubleshooting, and job sequencing.
- Train and mentor machinists, operators, and technicians to improve technical capability and performance.
- Monitor workflow, address production issues, and coordinate with other shifts to maintain continuity.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, inspection procedures, and machining best practices.
- Maintain equipment performance by scheduling maintenance and addressing machine downtime.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean manufacturing and process optimization.
Qualifications :
Proven experience as a CNC Manager, CNC Supervisor, or Lead CNC Programmer.Strong proficiency in CNC programming using common platforms such as Mastercam, Haas, Fanuc, or similar controls.Hands-on background in CNC machining, tooling, setups, and troubleshooting.Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide and coach production teams.Strong understanding of GD and T, blueprint reading, and precision measurement tools.Ability to work second shift, typically 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.Experience in fast paced manufacturing or machining environments.Strong problem solving, communication, and organizational skills.Desired Qualifications :
Experience implementing lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement programs.Familiarity with multi axis machining, advanced toolpath strategies, or complex part programming.Background with ERP or manufacturing software to manage scheduling and workflow.Prior experience improving cycle times, tooling efficiency, or machining processes.
