We are recruiting for a veterinary surgeon. The hospital is open to experienced surgeons, new grads and third year residents looking to work at a fun, collaborative, privately owned emergency/specialty practice that focuses on providing high standards of care as well as promoting you to maintain a good quality of life. The Medical Center in Syracuse, NY is proud to be privately owned, offering flexibility and creativity in helping achieve full-time employment as well as ample time off to recharge. They are in search of an additional Surgeon who can work alongside other specialists to provide collaborative care in a positive, collegial manner. The medical center is currently a 18,000 sq ft hospital (with plans for expansion under way) that offers 24 hour emergency in addition to Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Radiology, Cardiology, Nutrition and Critical Care. In addition, within the VMC exists CARE, a complementary rehabilitation and pain management center.
They are looking for a surgeon to help expand their surgical services. They provide strong support for the learning and introduction of new services, enabling an individual to create a unique niche that suits him or her both professionally and personally. They offer state-of-the-art equipment (arthroscopes, laparoscopes, 16 slice CT, ultrasound), and are eager to hear what more they can do to help the growth of the team. Attached to the VMC is an IDEXX reference laboratory, which enables accurate test results with a fast turnaround time for hospitalized patients. The Surgeon will be responsible for providing consultations on an appointment basis, receiving hospitalized cases transferred from the Emergency Service, and sharing after hours on-call responsibilities for emergency surgeries. They offer a $50,000 sign-on bonus to help offset student loans/debt/moving expenses/fun. Future ownership potential is available, as they plan to remain a private entity.
