American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Labor and Delivery position with BLS and NRP certifications in a Magnet-designated teaching hospital.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital settingHigh-risk perinatal center handling antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patientsApproximately 150 complex, high-acuity births per monthTwo dedicated operating rooms on unit for C-sections and related proceduresPatient ratios are 1 : 1Schedule options include day shifts at 3x12 or 4x12 hours; weekend shifts requiredFloating within the hospital is required, but not to sister hospitalsUses Epic EMR; previous Epic experience preferred but not requiredResponsibilities include managing high-risk labor and delivery, assisting in surgical births, and caring for both mothers and newborns in a Level 3 Perinatal and Level 4 NICU environmentSecond RN acts as 'baby catcher' for non-compromised infantsScrubs of any color acceptable; facility provides scrubs for OR personnelFirst-time travelers are acceptedHoliday time off is restricted to 1 of the 3 major holidays with a maximum of 3 additional non-holiday days off; blocked RTO around peak holiday dates is not allowedStrong preference for availability to work ChristmasOrientation consists of two sessions per month, with 5-6 hours of required modules and an Epic-specific orientation moduleNo call requirementsLocal candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact RN license or proof of pending licenseMinimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience required; 3 years preferredCurrent BLS and NRP certifications requiredExperience in teaching or trauma hospitals is preferredCOVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptionsTwo professional references required, at least one must be supervisoryPrior staff must be separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a travelerMust be able to complete all required modules prior to start\n Benefits\n
