Branch Manager
The Savings Bank is a strong, stable, and independent community bank headquartered in Wakefield, MA, with eight full-service banking offices. We currently have an opportunity to manage our main office location. Reporting directly to the SVP, Branch Administrator, this position will oversee and coach the branch team at our corporate headquarters in Wakefield. With branch deposits of over $250 million, this position will focus on both service and sales for a large deposit portfolio and a high-potential market. The Branch Manager directs activities to attract and grow business, and administers all day-to-day operations within the branch. Provides direction and coaching to branch staff, and ensures an optimal customer experience. Develops relationships with community partners and represents the Bank at community events.
Overall management of retail banking operations at the main office. Meets with new and existing customers to open accounts, perform maintenance, resolve issues, and process more complicated transactions. Conducts business development activities and identifies sales opportunities. Maintains relationships with internal departments such as cash management, commercial lending, residential lending, wealth management, and other areas of the Bank, to refer business and best serve customers. Schedules, coaches, evaluates branch staff. Executes ongoing performance management efforts throughout the year. Maintains current knowledge of retail banking products, and ensures that branch staff has adequate levels of expertise to discuss products and solutions with customers. Applies Bank policy and procedure to best serve customers. Makes decisions and exceptions within assigned authority. Performs monetary transactions as necessary. Processes consumer loans as needed. Creates branch schedules. Ensures adequate weekly coverage for the lobby and teller line, including branch opening, branch closing, and Saturday hours. Oversees team achievement of quarterly account, service, referral, and deposit goals for the branch. Represents the Bank in the community, and participates in various internal and external events outside of regularly scheduled hours. Follows all BSA / AML policies and procedures, and works within applicable banking laws and regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned by senior management.
Requirements : 5+ years of banking experience, preferably in a retail banking management role. Excellent communication skills. Ability to multitask, and prioritize time sensitive deadlines. Strong attention to detail and a high level of technical accuracy. Understanding of the importance of privacy, confidentiality, and discretion. Ability, dependability, and flexibility to pivot form scheduled plans on a daily basis. Desire to stay current on retail banking products, trends, and needs. Strong history of business development and deposit growth. Bachelors degree preferred, or a combination of experience and banking expertise required.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands : Normal office environment. While performing the duties of this job, sitting is regularly required for long periods of time. The job frequently requires speaking or hearing. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This job requires frequent computer monitor use. Salary Range : $69,488 - $90,395 - $111,201.
Schedule : Weekly Branch Schedule : Monday Thursday : 8 : 15am 4 : 15pm Friday : 8 : 15am 6 : 15pm Saturday : 8 : 15am 12 : 15pm. (2+ per month, scheduled in advance)
