American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for night shifts at a Level I trauma center, requiring an active IL RN license and advanced certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Emergency Department at an acute care hospital and Level I trauma centerCare for both adult and pediatric patient populations56-bed ED with an average daily census of 175 patientsNight shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30Required to work every other weekendNo on-call responsibilitiesCerner is used for electronic charting and experience is requiredResponsibilities include triage, emergency response, and managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunctionMust be comfortable with isolation precautions and handling a broad range of acute casesTeam-based environment within a Magnet-designated facilityFirst-time travelers are accepted and orientation includes completion of required modules onlineScrubs in any solid color are permittedMust work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays if scheduledLocals are accepted with no radius restrictionsFormer permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before eligibility as a travelerParking is provided at no cost with permit completion during orientation\n \n Requirements\n
Active IL RN license in hand or proof of application in processMinimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experienceCurrent certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (AHA or Red Cross only)Combined adult and pediatric ED experience requiredCardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKGExperience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and procedural sedationAbility to manage neurological, orthopedic, respiratory, pediatric, and psychiatric emergenciesCerner charting experience requiredMust provide SSN and DOB at time of consideration\n Benefits\n
