About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)

Profession : Registered Nurse

Specialty : Long Term Care

Duration : 13 Weeks

Shift : 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : 2+ Years in Long Term Care, Skilled Nursing Facility, or Medical Surgical setting

License : Active Michigan RN license

Certifications : BLS (AHA)

Must-Have : Successful completion of at least one travel assignment as an RN; COVID vaccination (if declining, must wear a mask)

Description :

Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and facility policies and procedures.

Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatments and examinations of residents.

Observes residents, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor, physician, and family of resident’s condition and reactions to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.

Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess the condition of residents.

Assigns duties and coordinates nursing services on the resident unit to ensure resident needs are met in accordance with instructions of the Physician, federal and state regulations, and facility procedures.

Consults with Shift Supervisor on nursing problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure resident needs are met.

Reports all complaints or unusual problems to the supervisor.

Assists with completion of facility complaint reports.

Participates in orientation, training, and evaluation of nursing personnel.

Evaluates nursing activities to ensure resident care, staffing relations, and efficiency of service.

Assigns duties and coordinates nursing service on the resident unit.

Observes nursing care and visits residents to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed, and treatment is administered in accordance with the Physician's instructions.

Assumes responsibility and maintains records for unit narcotics.

Inspects resident rooms and the unit for cleanliness and comfort.

Responsible for documenting admissions, discharges, transfers, and incident reports per facility policies and procedures.

Participates in the care plan process and completes nursing assessments and resident care plans accurately and timely on assigned residents.

Completes special projects and audits in the direction of the Supervisor or Director of Nursing.

Maintains all educational requirements for the state to keep licenses current.

Attends facility in-services and ward conferences as assigned.

Maintains resident confidentiality; treats residents with kindness, dignity, and respect; knows and complies with all Resident's Rights rules; and promptly reports all resident accidents and injuries to charge nurses.
