Field Service Technician, Packaging Equipment (Miami, FL)

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Field Technician at a partner facility in the Las Vegas, NV area. This position offers you the ability take part in the company's emergence on the international market, by travelling across the U.S.A and using your technical skills to resolve equipment issues at customer sites to get them back up and running at optimal performance while also having the chance to participate in different areas of the business.

Schedule : 40hr / week  (Day shift preferred) Flexible schedule.

Location :   Hybrid / Remote - Candidate can reside anywhere in the USA but will be going to different customer sites across the USA to perform work.

Language : English, (French or Spanish is a plus).

Duties and Responsibilities :

• The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-starter who is not afraid of taking the lead to make the right decisions when faced with a variety of scenarios in order to get the customer sites up and running in a timely manner.
• Travel to customers' site to setup, repair equipment, and conduct service and training related tasks.
• Troubleshoot packaging equipment (Machinery), identify and resolve issues.
• Test equipment to ensure it performs in accordance with best practices and specifications.
• Evaluate equipment functionality and propose continuous improvements to appropriate team for review and future consideration.
• Analyze customers' requirements and specifications to ensure current equipment meets their needs and or if additional equipment is needed in order to meet production goals.
• Support customers (remotely, via phone, and in person) on the operation and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Solve and facilitate customer service issues as they arise.
• When not on the road, you will assist with machine assembly, machine testing, training, quality control, documentation and factory acceptance testing assistance, shop work, as well as customer demonstrations (Demo).
• Perform duties related to special projects as required.

Work Experience & Technical Skills Requirement Be technically inclined from a mechanical, electrical and machine / equipment automation standpoint (Required). Manufacturing experience 7 years (Preferred). 5 years experience in assembly and / or service of industrial equipment. knowledge of line packaging or related equipment (Preferred). Have the ability to read engineering drawings. Skills with automation and IT equipment, PLC and HMI. Excellent communication skills. Field service report writing will be required. Have the ability to handle delicate customer situations in a customer friendly manner as you will be representing the company. Able to communicate the process and plan of action in a calm and polite manner. Able to manage and foster a positive customer relationship. Capable of clearly and concisely articulating situations back to head office in a timely manner for matters that require an approval prior to proceeding with a decision. Able to quickly think on your feet to come up with solutions and how you it will be implemented. Be open-minded to try new ideas for solutions with a positive attitude. Be meticulous, detail oriented and keep records of all actions performed during service calls both remote and onsite. Be resourceful when faced with new issues that have not been encountered before. Have the ability to troubleshoot effectively despite a stressful situation. Able to work with little guidance alone as well as in a team. Shows initiative, drive and willing to learn and grow with the company. Prior experience in conducting installation & servicing of machines Certificate & License Requirement A valid driver's license and the ability to travel without restrictions across USA. Valid passport and authorized to travel to Canada.
