IR Technologist

Job Summary (List Format) :

• Schedule :
• Monday-Friday
• Shifts : Option for 5x8s (7 : 00am-3 : 30pm) or 4x10s (7 : 00am-5 : 30pm)
• On-call shifts : 9 : 00am-5 : 30pm when on call
• Call rotation : Once every 3rd weekday and once every 3rd weekend (Fri-Mon)
• Holiday call may be required
• 30-minute call response time
• Rotating day off
• Required Certifications :
• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• Primary Duties :
• Verify orders and patient consent
• Perform head-to-toe assessments
• Provide patient education
• Set up procedure room and circulate cases
• Administer moderate sedation / assist anesthesia providers
• Continuous monitoring of patient hemodynamics
• Document all care and procedures
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members
• Other duties as assigned
• Required Experience / Skills :
• Minimum 2 years Cath Lab experience
• Must have IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump) experience
• Experience with EMR systems : Merge and Cerner
• Experience level may determine specific assignment within department
• Team / Staffing Structure :
• Cath Lab : 1 RN, 3 Techs per shift
• EP Lab : 3-4 person team (varies)
• IR : 1 RN, 2 Techs, Anesthesia for Neuro cases
• STEMI Call Team : 1 RN, 3 Techs
• 2 Team leads manage scheduling / staffing
• Additional Requirements :
• Floating to hybrid / vascular cases as needed
• Scrubs provided, may wear own scrub caps
• 2-3 days of unit / department orientation and shadowing
• No call during first week; buddy call during second week
• Independent call duties after orientation
