Facility Maintenance- Recreation Department
The City of Brooklyn invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Facility Maintenance within the City Recreation Department. There is currently one (1) opening. Applications will be accepted starting Thursday September 4, 2025 at 8 : 00am and must be received no later than Friday, September 26, 2025 at 4 : 00 pm.
Facility Maintenance : Under general supervision of the Recreation Commissioner and Recreation Manager, is responsible for maintenance and repair of recreation facilities, pools, furnishings, equipment, etc. Performs custodial maintenance work as required.
Maintains ice rink and related equipment (e.g. operates Zamboni ice resurfacing machine; maintains and repairs rink equipment and surrounding amenities; fixes ice hockey fixtures; etc.).
Maintains natatorium building and pools (e.g. maintains, operates, and repairs chemical and filtration system; takes chlorine and chemical readings; adjusts chlorine and chemical levels; maintains pool equipment; maintains pool heating equipment; sweep and scrub pool decks and makes minor repairs; vacuums and cleans pools; prepares outdoor pool for winter; maintains accurate records of all work performed and readings taken; etc.).
Minimum Qualifications for Positions : High school or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience necessary to perform essential functions of position. Must possess a Commercial Driver's License Class B or be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire date.
Salary will be determined based upon the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City and Liuna860
