Shipping / Receiving Clerk Job Description

Principal Functional Responsibilities :
- High level of documentation, computer entry (in two systems) and paperwork.
- Familiarity with BOL's, Freight Bills, Pack Slip and Purchase Orders.
- Ability to create a BOL and understanding of logistic / freight terminology.
- Verify items upon receipt to packing slip, and purchase order.
- Investigate any discrepancies from what is received to what is ordered. Communicating via email or phone with Buyer and Accounting as necessary to resolve.
- Receive items into Oracle. Printing and applying necessary paperwork to product.
- Deliver material to correct departments in a timely manner.
- High ability to prioritize duties and work to established timelines.
- Work with all areas of plant (Maintenance, Production, Administration, Purchasing, Engineering) ensuring a broad range of items are received complete and delivered accordingly.
- Maintain production and quality standards.
- Follow all safety rules, JSA and work instructions.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner.
- Fix unsafe conditions if possible and report condition to supervisor.
- May rotate to other departments and duties as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Qualifications and Skills :
One year of production experience or similar in a shipping or detail-oriented environment is preferred.Two to three years of work experience.Knowledge of safe work practices.High School diploma or GED preferred.Ability to read a tape measure.Computer skills using Oracle based system.Math skills.Fork truck licensure.Ability to read / write.Ability to work in a team environment.Excellent Attendance Record.Work without direct supervision.Physical Requirements :
Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.May be required to frequently lift up to 60 lbs.Hand dexterity and strength.Overtime is required, including weekends.May be required to work a flexible schedule.
