About The Position

Description :
RN's will be required to pass a skills exam during orientation.
The exam is open book, and all necessary resources will be provided.
A minimum score of 90% is required to pass.
Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.
Refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to termination of contract.
Candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered.
Experience in medical / surgical nursing with a specialty in post-operative cancer care is preferred.
Common diagnoses include medical / surgical conditions and post-operative interventions.
The nurse-to-patient ratio can be up to 1 : 5.
RNs may be required to titrate drips, including heparin and TPN.
Charge Nurse and House Supervisor responsibilities are present on the unit.
Monitoring of patient vitals and telemetry will be conducted by RNs.
Shifts will include three 12-hour shifts from 6 : 30 AM to 7 : 00 PM.
There is a weekend requirement of every third weekend.
Holiday requirements will be rotating.
Floating is rare but may occur to other medical / surgical units if needed.
The dress code for the unit is navy scrubs.
Unit-specific orientation will be provided.
Additional questions will be addressed via email as needed.
The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment.
The charting system used is EPIC.
