Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, business computer systems, or similar
• At least two years of experience in a lead technical role with increasing responsibilities
• Expertise in data modeling, interpreting insights from datasets, and presenting narratives and visualizations.
• Proficiency in using Qlik Cloud or Qlik Sense Enterprise (including data architecture with load scripts), Power BI, Power Query, and Data Modeling within Power BI.
• Competence in analytical languages such as Python or their equivalents, along with a solid understanding of databases and SQL.
• Knowledge of Data Warehouse principles and familiarity with data modeling concepts and methodologies.
• Experience in managing a team and / or team projects to enhance performance and achieve both short-term and long-term goals.
• Keen attention to detail, strong data analysis skills, troubleshooting abilities, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills, enabling professional and effective interactions with various individuals.

Position Summary

The Analytics Engineer, under the direction of the IT Senior Manager for Applications and Data, is responsible for delivering data-driven solutions to support the Facilities Management Division at the University of Georgia. Key duties include collaborating with stakeholders on data-related projects, maintaining dashboards and data models, managing data sources, and partnering with IT leadership to establish effective data governance protocols. This individual will lead analytics initiatives that provide actionable insights for informed decision-making and process improvement. The position requires substantial hands-on involvement to lay the groundwork for a strategic data approach, with the long-term objective of developing a comprehensive data team.
