Overview
We are looking for an experienced Director of Sales to shape our organization's long-term strategy and develop measures that realize our business objectives. The Director will assess Portfolio Relevance, develop achievable Financial Goals, and implement processes that improve organizational effectiveness and build a sustainable competitive advantage. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong organizational and problem‑solving skills and have a background in Aerospace & Defense with a proven track record of pursuing and capturing new business.
Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives.
- Increase the value of current customers while attracting new ones and create pipelines for additional work.
- Find and develop new markets and improve sales.
- Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events.
- Support the development of the technology roadmap for continued business growth and organizational strategy.
- Present findings, projections, and recommended actions.
- Plan, implement and execute to proposed recommendations and projects.
- Support and guide senior executive decision‑making processes.
- Maintain knowledge of market trends, competitive actions, product needs, and customer base to support sales goals and the products of our business.
- Negotiate contracts and develop proposals and quotes as required.
- Contact potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.
- Proactively identify and implement new tools and process improvements to address changing business needs.
- Maintain and update standard work procedures and documentation for the department.
- Establish sales goals and develop sales plans in coordination with Business Group goals.
- Coordinate with Program Management the preparation of proposals and the execution of contracts.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including leading projects and participation in project committees.
Qualifications and Experience
Background in complex manufactured critical-to-function components and sub‑assemblies.Experience with major primes (e.g., Honeywell, L3, Rockwell Collins, Boeing, Sikorsky, Airbus).Knowledge and experience in developing new applications that are complex in nature and require cross‑organizational resources.Demonstrated organizationSkills with the ability to plan itineraries, develop programs, write proposals, and meet monthly reporting requirements while traveling as required.Ability to prioritize work and meet competing or short‑notice deadlines consistently.Motivated self-starter with ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.Financial knowledge and background in ROI, NPV calculations.Previous or current experience in program management.Contract administration experience.Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal and leadership abilities.In‑depth knowledge of the aerospace market including the aftermarket.Ability to utilize business essential tools including CRM.Ability to effectively communicate among all levels within the organization.Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university / college in business or engineering related discipline.Prior experience with some of the following customers preferred : Lockheed Martin, JPL, Boeing, Ball, Northrop, Raytheon.Minimum 6+ years of relevant sales experience with demonstrated results in sales and marketing and proven customer relation skills.Equal Opportunity
