Job Summary :

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining the nursing department schedule to ensure adequate staffing for all shifts in compliance with state regulations and facility policies. This position plays a critical role in supporting resident care by coordinating staff coverage, managing call-ins, and maintaining accurate time and attendance records.

Schedule : Monday- Friday 7 : 30am-4 : 00pm

Location : 5131 Warm Springs Road Columbus, GA

Job Duties :

  • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly nursing schedules based on facility staffing patterns and census.
  • Monitor call-ins, absences, and tardiness; arrange replacements as needed to ensure all shifts are adequately covered.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of staff availability, licensure, and credentials.
  • Communicate staffing needs, schedule changes, and assignments to nursing staff and department heads.
  • Liaise with recruiting agencies to fill vacancies in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with Human Resources and DON for new hires, orientation, and employee status changes.
  • Track employee attendance, vacation, sick time, and ensure payroll data is accurate and submitted on time for in house and agency staff.
  • Assist in the recruitment of nursing staff by contacting per diem or agency workers as needed.
  • Generate daily staffing reports and submit them to management as required.
  • Ensure compliance with state staffing regulations and company policies regarding minimum staffing ratios.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and resident information at all times
  • Help on the floor as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Previous experience in staffing, scheduling, or administrative support, preferably in healthcare or long-term care setting.

Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to staffing emergencies.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Education Requirements :

High School Diploma or GED

  • CNA Training Program : Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program is mandatory.
  • Certification : Successful completion of the state’s competency exam to obtain certification as a CNA

    CPR and First Aid Certification

    Continuing Education : Ongoing professional development may be required to maintain certification, which could include attending workshops or courses to stay current with healthcare practices.

    Physical Demands :

  • Ability to lift, move, and reposition residents as needed without restrictions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time without restrictions.
  • Ability to respond quickly to medical emergencies without restrictions.
  • Work Conditions :

  • Work is performed in a skilled nursing facility setting, with potential exposure to bodily fluids, chemicals, and other hazardous materials.
  • Full-time, part-time, or PRN shifts may be available, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Tasks assigned to this position may involve potential and / or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.
