Security Officer
The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of personnel, assets, and facilities by enforcing security policies, monitoring access control, and responding to incidents. This role requires vigilance, strong observational skills, and the ability to act quickly and professionally in security-related situations. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service mindset while maintaining a proactive security presence. This position also performs other projects and activities necessary to support business operations.
Security & Access Control
Monitor and control access to facilities by verifying identification, credentials, and visitor logs.
Conduct security screenings, bag checks, and other access control procedures as required.
Enforce company security policies, procedures, and site-specific protocols.
Monitor security systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control systems, for potential threats or unauthorized activities.
Patrols & Incident Response
Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of the premises to detect suspicious activity or safety hazards.
Respond to security incidents, alarms, and emergency situations in accordance with established protocols.
Assist with evacuations, crowd control, and emergency response procedures as needed.
De-escalate conflicts and diffuse potentially volatile situations with professionalism.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain detailed and accurate logs of security incidents, observations, and routine activities.
Prepare written reports on security breaches, policy violations, or any safety concerns.
Communicate effectively with security management, law enforcement, and emergency responders when necessary.
Customer Service & Stakeholder Engagement
Provide assistance and direction to employees, visitors, and contractors while maintaining a security presence.
Act as a point of contact for security-related inquiries and provide guidance on policies and procedures.
Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor while enforcing security protocols.
Emergency Preparedness & Compliance
Assist in emergency preparedness drills, fire safety procedures, and crisis response training.
Ensure compliance with company security policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Remain up to date on security threats, protocols, and emergency response measures.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Security, or a related field preferred.
1-3 years of experience in physical security, law enforcement, military, or a related field preferred.
Experience operating security systems such as CCTV, access control, and alarm monitoring is a plus.
Skills & Competencies

Proficiency in basic computer applications and incident reporting systems.
Certifications & Training
Active Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Level II non-commissioned security officer license.
CPR and First Aid are highly desirable.
Bilingual : English / Spanish is highly desirable.
Working Conditions
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and respond quickly to incidents.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.
May involve standing or walking for extended periods and working in various weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry security equipment or materials weighing up to 30 lbs.
Capability to respond to physical security incidents, including potential physical interventions when necessary.
