Repair Technology Center Support - O&T Projects

Support O&T Projects : Support of various O&T projects is the responsibility of this RDC role and must be done by working with various groups at Client and vendors. The extent of this support varies by project and shall be considered on-going until the project is complete.

Perform Materials Evaluations : From the Metallurgical Laboratory located in Meadville, PA, this role has the responsibility of preparing met lab samples, performing related evaluations, and creating / issuing reports. Some examples of these evaluations include microstructure analysis, hardness analysis, and weld analysis. Evaluations may also be performed using Client approved vendors. These would include include (but not limited to) mechanical testing, chemical analysis, and testing outside the Repair Development Center's metrology lab's current Scope of Work.

Create Inspection Solutions : Once a potential inspection need is identified, this role is responsible for developing an advanced inspection solution to complete an O&T project, remove cost of a UX process, or improve existing inspection processes. The inspection solution needs to be demonstrated as well as supported by the stakeholders and follow any shop site guidelines. Role requires a solid understanding of various inspection technologies such as 3D scanning, NDT, and vision-based systems as well as the related software.

Apply Repair Technologies : Apply existing or investigate new repair technologies to support any O&T project or need. Examples of repair technologies include traditional arc welding, additive, laser-based welding or cladding, thermal spray, plating, brazing, metal stitching, and other joining / surface-based processes. Demonstrations are required and will support the proposed solution.

Develop Tools and Fixtures : Role leads or supports the design and / or fabrication of tooling and fixtures to support an O&T project / PoC / idea. This includes working closely with the supplier to successfully deliver the required tool, parts, or component needed. All related documents, drawings, and quotes are part of this responsibility. This service may include repair and / or inspection technologies to be coupled with this Role.

Other Tasks : Perform technology demonstrations and support new process implementations at client facilities. Provide feedback or input (both written or oral) regarding testing, demonstrations, or similar events. Support Design Reviews (or other Engineering related events) as needed to forward a O&T project. Travel to client sites or new to client suppliers for either information sessions or demonstrations (witness or provide). Investigate and suggest new repair and inspection technologies new to client or the internal teams. Manage, direct, and / or drive O&T related tasks involving the RDC. These tasks may include sawing, welding, delivering parts, etc. Provide "pass-through" purchase order requests from the client team for those suppliers not included in client's purchasing database.
