Overview
GovCIO is excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Engineer with DevSecOps expertise to lead the development, support, and architecture of a government application transitioning to the AWS cloud. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and code applications using Java, Angular, and AWS technologies.
- Provide patches and upgrades to existing systems, ensuring compliance with software standards.
- Engage in all stages of the software development lifecycle for AWS solutions, from planning to quality assurance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, documenting solutions and implementing preventive measures.
- Educate cross-functional teams on new cloud initiatives and provide training as needed.
- Create architectural blueprints for AWS-centered hybrid cloud infrastructures.
- Deliver quality solutions on-time and within budget, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Participate in architecture definition for Cloud Initiatives utilizing industry best practices.
- Develop and document technical content such as white papers.
- Plan and collaborate with team members on project management.
- Optimize cloud product development and deployment processes through automation and debugging.
- Execute disaster recovery plans and set up blue-green environments.
- Continuously identify and implement the best cloud tech stacks for various projects.
- Manage modifications and updates post-release.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in a related field.8+ years of relevant work experience in solutions design and engineering with a focus on AWS and similar platforms.Expertise in configuring CI / CD environments using tools like GitLab and Agile methodologies.Experience in maintaining systems reliability, load balancing, monitoring, and logging.Solid experience in fully automating CI / CD pipelines and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategies.Strong skills in UNIX / Linux environments and automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.Comprehensive understanding of cloud architecture, including Microservices and security protocols.AWS certification is preferred.Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills.Ability to conduct various levels of testing throughout project stages.Familiarity with security protocols and optimizations in a cloud environment.Clearance Required : Must be able to acquire and maintain a Public Trust.Preferred Skills and Experience

Posted Salary Range
The expected salary for this position ranges from USD $124,540.00 to $155,000.00 per year, with variations based on experience and other factors.
