Overview
The Commissioning Engineer works closely with the Project Manager, Project Engineers, Vendors, Other commissioning team members, and AHJ's through the start-up process. Commissioning activities include inspections, performance testing, trouble shooting, negotiating final compliance with AHJ's to achieve placed in service status, and writing the commissioning reports.
The engineer must be able to work independently with little to no instruction. The successful candidate will have a depth of experience in power systems, start-up activities, compliance, and testing. They can manage multiple projects at a time in different progress stages. They will also understand commissioning and start-up of plants is time critical and manage their time and resources accordingly.
The candidate will need to travel as required to project sites.
Key Responsibilities
Researching the commissioning needs for each project.
Manage all aspects of Commissioning, and instruct other on necessary tasks.
Establishing and Communicating commissioning steps to the project team to develop schedules.
Working at sites to perform inspections and system performance testing.
Communicating and leading efforts to solve problems with equipment that may occur during start-up.
Completing the commissioning reports to submit to 3rd Parties, AHJ's, and internal records.

Bachelor's degree in physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent technical field
Proficient with job site operations.
5+ years of experience in outdoor construction
5+ years of experience in renewable energy technology
3+ years of experience in storage system technology
5+ years of experience with control systems and programming controllers
3+ years of experience with HVAC systems
3+ years of experience with IT communications protocols and tools
Experience with leading teams and a desire to do so.
Proficiency with MS Office Tools : Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Schedule
Hands on experience with wiring, assembly of mechanical machinery, and operating test equipment
Possess understanding of construction and engineering principles
Excellent problem-solving skills
Inter team management.
Detail orientation and shown ability to manage multiple, complex initiatives.
OSHA 10 Certification and NEC70E Certification are a plus.
Professional Engineering License a plus.
