Job description

Are you seeking a rewarding locum tenens opportunity in Virginia? We are looking for a qualified and board-certified General Surgeon to provide call coverage near Red House, VA . This short-term assignment offers a chance to make a meaningful impact while working in an established facility.

    Required Qualifications

  • Board Certification

    • Must be board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery

  • Licensure

    • Must hold an active Virginia medical license

  • Experience

    • Prior experience in general surgery, including adult and pediatric cases

    Skills and Procedures

    The ideal candidate should be proficient in the following :

  • Laparoscopic surgery
  • Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, and Hernioplasty
  • Trauma surgery
  • Breast and head / neck surgeries
  • Endoscopic procedures (Upper GI, Lower GI)
  • Chest tube insertion and central line placement
  • Minor orthopedic and vascular surgeries

    • Athena and Meditech

  • Support Staff

    • Includes 34 RNs; no residents or teaching supervision required

    • 30 minutes for call-backs
