Position Summary
The SSHO will serve as the on-site safety lead, ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA regulations, and all project-specific safety requirements. This role requires proactive hazard identification, enforcement of safety protocols, and maintaining a safe work environment for all personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-time, on-site safety oversight
 - Implement and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
 - Conduct daily safety inspections and prepare reports
 - Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA standards, and federal contract requirements
 - Stop unsafe work immediately and implement corrective actions
 - Coordinate with USACE and government inspectors regarding safety compliance
 - Maintain accurate documentation of all safety activities and incidents
 
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience as SSHO on federal or military construction projectsCertifications :EM 385-1-1 (USACE / NAVFAC 40-hour course)
OSHA 30-Hour Construction SafetyFirst Aid / CPR / AEDStrong knowledge of excavation, fall protection, confined space, and electrical safetyAbility to prepare safety documentation and compliance reportsExcellent leadership and communication skillsPreferred Qualifications
Experience with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projectsFamiliarity with bridge work, stream restoration, and masonry repairBenefits
