Position Summary :
This position will be responsible for providing supervision, leadership, coordination and education of the community teams designated by districts, that includes staff with lived experience, in order to provide greater access to behavioral health support, guidance and linkages to care on a community level. This position will commit to community advocacy while ensuring a safe and healthy environment for the team and community members. This position will be focused on promoting and protecting the health of populations experiencing Health Care disparities using a population health framework.
This position is currently grant-funded through December 2025. Additional steps are being taken to sustain the position beyond the expiration of the grant.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Build and maintain a strong functional team through effective training, performance
management, coaching and team building
Provide leadership, coordination, support and supervision for CWEU Team Leads, Specialists, and Community Wellness Specialists as neededServe as a health and wellness consultant for the teamParticipate in DBHIDS activities in the community to connect with community members and continue to grow an understanding of the needs of the communityEnsure CWEU staff’s timely completion of data entry and support regional teams’ strategic use of data to inform community engagement effortsParticipate in internal and external working groups to collaborate effectively with relevant partners, coordinate CWEU responsiveness, and inform system improvementsIdentify priority issues and raise concerns for the CWEU Coordinator to addressSupport Team Leads’ efforts to establish and expand relationships with targeted community connections across PhiladelphiaProvide and train CWEU team members in providing community focused presentations related to crisis, behavioral health and wellness, homelessness, and other DBHIDS resources for the communitySupport and attend community meetings and community eventsWorks a flexible schedule to allow for evening and weekend hours as neededSkills Required :
Knowledge and understanding of adult and child behavioral health and physical health systems and programs, including substance use treatment, housing and supportive services (e.g. case management, certified recovery specialists, etc.)Excellent supervisory skills, including ability to motivate and inspire staffAbility to foster collaboration, build consensus and inspire a shared visionExcellent verbal and written communicationAbility to present information and findings in a results-driven industry to a variety of audiencesAbility to be creative, analytic and possess keen problem-solving abilityAbility to work well with diverse groups of individuals and organizationsAbility to work with individuals with varying backgrounds, including but not limited to individuals with lived experience in the behavioral health systemExcellent organizational skillsExcellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Keen awareness of political concerns as they arise and how to best address them on a community-levelPhysical Demands :
Ability to sit for at least one (1) hour at a time and to use a computerAbility to lift up to 20 lbs. when handling suppliesAbility to navigate in and around Philadelphia via public transportationEducation and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field required, Master of Social Work, orrelated field preferred.
Four (4) years of experience in behavioral health or related fieldMinimum of two (2) years supervisory experience requiredFamiliarity with Philadelphia behavioral health system, continuum and levels of careBilingual preferred (i.e., Spanish, Chinese- all dialects, Vietnamese, Russian, Arabic, Haitian Creole)OR
Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptableEssential Functions :
