GENERAL FUNCTION / SUMMARY
The Junior Loan Processor is responsible for supporting the lending team by collecting, reviewing, and processing loan documentation to ensure timely and accurate loan closings. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with loan officers, underwriters, and clients to deliver exceptional service and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loan Documentation & Processing
- Collect, review, and verify borrower documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Ensure all required documents are received and uploaded into the system before underwriting.
- Prepare files for underwriting and assist in obtaining additional information as requested.
- Track and follow up on outstanding loan conditions to ensure timely processing and closing.
- Compliance & Data Integrity
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the loan origination system.
- Ensure all files comply with internal policies, investor guidelines, and federal and state regulations.
- Identify discrepancies or missing information and resolve promptly to prevent delays.
- Collaboration & Operational Support
- Work closely with loan officers, underwriters, and closing staff to ensure a smooth loan process.
- Support the team in pipeline management, file preparation, and internal audit readiness.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Customer Service
- Respond to customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner through phone, email, or other channels.
- Provide clear updates regarding loan status, documentation requirements, or next steps in the process.
- Escalate any complex or urgent issues to the Loan Processing Manager or senior staff for immediate resolution.
- Follow through on all open cases until completion to ensure customer satisfaction and positive experience.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.1-2 years of experience in loan processing, mortgage lending, escrow, or financial services preferred.Familiarity with lending guidelines, escrow / title processes, and funding coordination.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and loan processing software is a plus.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Good communication and customer service skills.Willingness to learn and develop expertise in private lending procedures.WHO WE ARE
