To perform final assembly of doors, windows, hatches, port lights, and / or other products, either bare or coated
Essential Functions
- Assemble products including installing gaskets, door hardware and / or full assembly of windows
- Perform final fit up and cleanup
- Perform final quality inspection and fix or reject product as appropriate
- Coordinates and train as Level II Assembler / Glazer
- Provide feedback on current and upcoming projects.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, with higher education or vocational training specializing in fabrication2-3 year experience working with aluminum and / or stainless steel and / or painted and unpainted products2-3 year experience with shop / hand tools; can use / read tape measure, operate air tools, drill, grinder, sander3-5 years experience in assembly & / or glazingFamiliarity with steps in the building process to identify problems during assemblyPreferred Skills
Forklift certificationExcellent knowledge of fabricationBasic mechanical and math skillsAbility to read drawings and blueprintsOther
Work is performed in an unheated manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, aluminum dust and hazardous materials such as paint thinner, acetone and cleanersRequires constant standing or kneeling and extensive close workUsing appropriate safety equipment, ability to lift, push or pull up to 30 pounds; carry 150 poundsThe employer reserves the right to change or assign other duties to this position
