Director, Strategic Initiatives
We're excited to announce a new opportunity for a Director, Strategic Initiatives within our Voluntary Home business group. This strategic role is focused on building and executing high-impact initiatives that strengthen profitability and operational excellence.
The Director will be responsible for shaping initiative strategy, driving execution, and fostering alignment across teams and stakeholders. This role requires a visionary leader who can translate business goals into actionable plans, build consensus, and deliver results through disciplined initiative management and strategic collaboration.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Lead the identification, prioritization, and execution of strategic initiatives that drive profitability and operational efficiency.
- Manage multiple concurrent initiatives and workstreams, ensuring alignment with business goals and timely delivery.
- Develop and maintain initiative documentation, schedules, dashboards, and status reports using project management tools (e.g., MS Project).
- Facilitate initiative planning, meetings, and lifecycle execution; track progress, resolve issues, and manage risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and partner organizations to support execution and delivery.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and consensus while maintaining a sense of urgency and accountability.
- Allocate resources effectively, manage budgets, and oversee performance planning and coaching for initiative teams.
- Promote continuous improvement by mentoring team members, training on methodologies, and leading change management efforts.
- Present initiative updates and strategic insights to executive leadership and varied internal audiences.
- Foster a high-performance culture through leadership, communication, and strategic decision-making.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, or 4 years of equivalent experience.A minimum 7 years of experience in project management, developing and leading growth initiatives.Prior experience managing direct reports and leading cross-functional teams.Strong understanding of initiative and project management methodologies and tools.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio.What other skills / experience would be helpful to have?
Property and Casualty experience is highly desired.Drive cross-functional consensus while sustaining a sense of urgency.Ability to process complex, time-sensitive data from multiple sources and communicate decisions effectively to a broad audience.Prior experience managing direct reports.Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks within a team setting.Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio at a proficient level.How much should I expect to travel?
Up to 20% travelPay Range : $119,600.00 - $199,800.00
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
