Job description

Mister Car Wash is rewriting the rules of the car wash industry. With over 500 locations across 21 states and a multibillion-dollar public footprint, we're the largest and fastest-growing car wash brand in the country, and we're just getting started.

We're looking for a Senior Corporate Counsel to lead the legal strategy behind our aggressive store expansion. This role is deeply rooted in commercial real estate law, supporting both greenfield development and acquisition of existing car wash operations. You'll be the legal engine behind our growth, guiding complex real estate transactions, navigating zoning and portfolio challenges, and partnering across teams to deliver business-first legal solutions.

This is a high-impact role for a seasoned attorney who thrives at the intersection of law and business. We're seeking someone who can represent our company with integrity, collaborate across departments, and deliver legal guidance that protects the business while enabling it to move forward.

What You'll Do :

Commercial Real Estate Transactions & Development

  • Draft and negotiate purchase agreements, ground leases, easements, and sale / leaseback transactions.
  • Lead diligence for new site development (title, survey, environmental).
  • Oversee legal efforts in acquiring existing car wash businesses, including stock and asset purchase agreements.

Zoning, Advocacy & Portfolio Support

  • Provide legal advocacy for zoning and use rights.
  • Advise on real estate legal issues across our 500+ store portfolio.

    • Operational Legal Guidance & Compliance

  • Counsel on day-to-day commercial and operational matters.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate policies and risk management goals.

    • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Risk Mitigation

  • Partner with internal stakeholders on real estate and broader business matters.
  • Identify legal risks and deliver practical, business-focused solutions.

    • Team Leadership & Legal Oversight

  • Coach and develop real estate legal support team members.
  • Review and ensure quality of legal work across the team.

    • What You Bring :

  • JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership (AZ, MN, or other U.S. jurisdiction).
  • 8+ years of legal experience, with deep expertise in retail commercial real estate transactions.
  • Background in mid-to-large law firms or in-house legal departments within retail, consumer goods, or quick service industries.
  • Strong writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and influence across the organization.
  • A business-first mindset with a high level of professionalism and urgency.
