Job description

We are an independently owned small animal practice located in the heart of Los Lunas. We are looking for a dedicated experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess a passion for animal care and have a strong background in patient care and client communication.

Responsibilities :

• Assist veterinarians in routine examinations and surgical procedures
• Preform blood draws
• Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
• Administer medications and vaccines under supervision
• Handle and restrain animals during procedures
• Conduct animal catheterization when necessary
• Provide compassionate nursing care for hospitalized patients
• Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress

Experience :

The successful candidate should have experience and knowledge in the following areas :

• Understanding of the daily operations of a veterinary hospital
• Laboratory procedures
• Animal catheterization techniques
• Strong anesthesia, surgical and dental skills
• Understanding of animal physiology
• Compassionate patient care
• Strong, effective communication skills
• Team player

Requirements :

• Certification as a Veterinary Technician preferred but not required
• At least 2 years of experience
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
