Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer with a minimum of 2 years of adult and pediatric echo experience for an 8-hour day shift assignment.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Heart and Vascular Institute clinic and hospital settings
  • 11 imaging rooms in clinic with support from a multidisciplinary team
  • Perform routine and limited echos, 2D measurements, strain imaging, TEE, and stress echocardiograms
  • Care for both adult and pediatric patient populations
  • Handle an average of 8 outpatients and 6-8 inpatients daily
  • Use EPIC EMR and PHILLIPS Cv-x and 7C equipment
  • Float between the clinic and hospital as needed
  • 8-hour day shifts with 40 hours per week
  • Six night call shifts per month with weekend call rotation every 6-7 weeks
  • Five-day orientation provided
  • Supported by a team including RNs, 17 sonographers, 14 cardiologists, patient service representatives, and a clinical informaticist
  • Black scrubs required
  • Free parking available
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility due to the radius rule
  • Holiday coverage is included within the call and weekend rotation
  • Time off requires manager approval

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Cardiac Sonographer in both adult and pediatric settings
  • Current BLS certification
  • ARDMS or CCI-RCS certification required
  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree required
  • Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
  • License required if applicable
