The and at seeks qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of neuroscience to begin in August 2025. Candidates must have a Ph.D. by August 2025, and post-doctoral or professional experience is preferred. Applicants should have a commitment to teaching undergraduates while maintaining an active research program that engages undergraduate students. Start-up funds will be provided to support the expected development of a productive research program. Teaching responsibilities will include five teaching involvements per year (labs count as a full teaching involvement) consisting of a combination of introductory, upper level, and senior seminar courses within the Biology Department and the interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program. Normal teaching responsibilities will include one upper-level biology course and one upper-level neuroscience course with lab within the candidate’s area of specialty, with some preference for candidates able to teach Animal Physiology with lab.

The Department of Biology and the Neuroscience Program maintain active partnerships with the UT Health Sciences Center, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, and the Memphis Zoo, and is an affiliate of the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory. Nearby field sites include Overton Park, Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park, Shelby Farms, and the Wolf River wetlands.
