Community Engagement Assistant
This position functions to assist and support the efforts of the Development & Communications team, including the Samaritan Healthcare Foundation. Role provides daily support to Chief Development & Communications Officer and assists in the coordination of the foundation donor cycle, including but not limited to gift processing, donor communications, and calendar support to the Foundation Director and the Foundation committees. Role also serves as secondary point of contact and daily oversight of Samaritan's Volunteer Program, helping manage schedules and program communication with all volunteers. Position works in collaboration with other Development and Communications professionals to support a variety of internal and external communications and foundation efforts for Samaritan Healthcare.
This is a full-time Monday through Friday, 8 : 30am - 5 : 00pm hourly opportunity.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's or Associates Degree in communications, marketing, public relations, advertising or related field preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
- Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire.
- Minimum two to three years' experience in a professional office setting preferred.
- Knowledge and expertise of publishing programs preferred.

Under the guidance of the Chief Development & Communications Officer, position supports the daily operations of the Development & Communications Department, including but not limited to, Foundation gift processing, general clerical support, receiving the public, and providing customer assistance.Provides support to the Chief Development & Communications Officer, as well as calendar needs of the Samaritan Healthcare Foundation and the Foundation Committees.Provides daily support and operations of the Foundation's donor database. Functions include assuring accuracy of all additions, updates, and data reports for review and trend analysis.Position works closely with the Foundation Specialist and the Accounting Department to manage month-end financials ensuring accuracy and consistency for the Foundation financials.Collaborates with the Development & Communications Team and Foundation Director to ensure effective organization, communication, and execution of department events and initiatives, including Foundation campaigns, community outreach efforts and organizational volunteer opportunities.Act as liaison to Samaritan Volunteer Program by supporting daily coordination of Samaritan volunteers, including the Foundation's various volunteer committees which include the including Annual Support, Employee, Community Relations and Major Gifts Committees.Supports a wide range of internal and external Development & Communications initiatives, proactively anticipating and addressing the operational needs of Foundation and community outreach activities.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
On occasion, moderate physical effort required. Must be able to lift / carry up to 25 lbs.Mostly sedentary work with light physical effort.
