The Construction Accounting Manager oversees all accounting operations within a company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, job costing and compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role that offers the opportunity to manage a small accounting team while owning the full accounting cycle. Manage budgets, analyze financial data, supervise staff, and collaborate with other departments to improve financial health. Construction or industrial services experience is required.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Develop and manage budgets, analyze financial data, and provide financial projections.
Hire, train, and supervise accounting staff, providing guidance and support.
Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and internal policies.
Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency.
Work with other departments to align financial goals and strategies.
Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary information and documentation.
Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
Construction experience, track labor costs, and maintain WIP schedules.
Ability to motivate, guide, and supervise accounting staff.
Strong ability to analyze financial data and identify trends.
Effective communication with colleagues, management, and external stakeholders.
Ability to identify and resolve financial issues.
Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.
