Health Advocates Network is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to work at a facility in Tacoma, WA. This is a registry position with our company. Pay Rate : $38 / hour

• W2 Shift Details : Area : Federal Way Public Schools Class : COTA Shift : 1 Start : 08 : 00 : 00 End : 16 : 00 : 00 This is a travel position located in Federal Way, WA.

Other responsibilities : Work in direct contact with students affected by a variety of disabilities including, but not limited to, medically fragile students to promote their prescribed occupational therapy programs. May also require working directly with disturbed and / or emotionally distraught students. Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position. Required qualifications : Education and experience : Associate degree for Occupational Therapy Assistant from accredited college or school, including fieldwork. Additional requirements :

Knowledge of : Knowledge and understanding of accepted occupational therapy practices and procedures. Ability to : Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents and staff members. Ability to work effectively on a team. Demonstrated efficient time-management skills. Demonstrated professional competence, patience, and the physical capacity to transfer and manipulate students. Relate effectively in a multicultural and multiracial community and maintain cultural awareness and sensitivity to work corporately and collaboratively with staff, parents and the public Interact effectively and collegially with adults and students and ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrate strong organizational skills Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations Required knowledge, skills and abilities related to cultural competence and equity : Knowledge / awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others. Physical demands : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently sit, stand and walk, bend neck and back, squat, kneel, and use hands for fine manipulation and repetitive grasping and pushing / pulling. The employee will occasionally be required to climb stairs / ladder, lift and reach overhead, and lift / carry. The employee must constantly lift / carry up to 5 lbs and must frequently lift / carry up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift / carry a maximum of 35 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to push / pull a maximum force of 100 lbs.
