Locum Interventional Cardiologist Omaha, Nebraska (IMLC Accepted) Full-Time 24 / 7 Call Coverage | Multi-Hospital Cath Lab Support | Academic Hub & Spoke Model

Opportunity Snapshot :

An academic medical center in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a locum Interventional Cardiologist to provide comprehensive cath lab and call coverage across four affiliated hospitals. This full-time locums role offers a unique opportunity to work within a hub-and-spoke system, focusing on interventional procedures and STEMI coverage. The position is designed to bridge a gap created by departing cardiologists and maintain consistent cath lab operations across the network.

Key Details :

Coverage Dates : January 2026 July 2026Schedule : 24 / 7 call with daily coverageFTE : 1.0 (full-time equivalent)

Setting : Hub-and-spoke model

Hub : Academic medical center

Spokes : 3 additional cath lab facilities

Covering 4 hospitals for call and cath lab duties

Duties Include :

Inpatient and outpatient diagnostic cardiac catheterizations

Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)

STEMI call and coverage

Right heart cath, angioplasty, stenting, Impella, temporary pacer placement, and pericardiocentesis

Potential for limited rounding (with APP support) and some ambulatory visits

Support Staff :

Dedicated cath lab team

APP support for inpatient rounds

Reason for Coverage : Coverage gap due to two interventional cardiologists departing for fellowship and leadership positions

EMR : Epic

Requirements :

Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology Required

Fellowship Trained in Interventional Cardiology Required

Active NE & IA License or IMLC (in hand at submission) Required

ACLS, BLS, and DEA Required
