Overview
Assists the Director of Admissions with administrative duties to provide leadership in the implementation of policies, practices, and programs which enable the University to achieve enrollment goals. Represents the University to the general public through scheduled presentations and assists with administrative duties in coordination of scheduling and hosting events sponsored by MSU Admissions Office. Responsible for counseling prospective students, parents, educational administrators, and other interested persons to provide expert knowledge and advice on the university's admissions process. Travels extensively throughout the state of Texas to high schools and junior colleges for recruitment / retention of prospective MSU students. Works independently to manage office procedures. Reports to the Director of Admissions.

Responsibilities
Qualifications and Experience
Experience : One or more years experience in a college or university environment, preferably in a related area such as student affairs, school relations and / or college admissions counseling.
Knowledge : Requires working knowledge of MSU admission policies and procedures, academic requirements, and residency policies, to include knowledge of admissions procedures for beginning freshmen, transfer students and re-enrolling MSU students. Proficiency in the use of personal computers and knowledge of commonly used computer software programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
Education : Bachelor\'s degree required; Master\'s degree in higher education student personnel or related field is preferred and may be substituted for experience.
Physical Condition
Must be able to drive independently and lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
Additional Requirements
Must have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to plan and coordinate complex, cross-related tasks. Must be a strong, positive representative of Midwestern State University. Must have a team orientation; be adaptable, flexible, and cooperative; have strong interpersonal skills.
