Let’s be direct: This is a role for a career trial lawyer who wants to be in the courtroom defending the institutions that keep California running.
Our client is a premier public sector law firm that has been a pillar of the California legal landscape for over 40 years. They serve as the primary defense for cities and public entities in high-stakes civil litigation. From complex tort claims and dangerous conditions of public property to employment and municipal law disputes, this is high-impact work that directly affects local communities.
The Reality of the Role
The Work: You will lead civil litigation matters from case inception through verdict. You aren't just a "paper litigator"—you are a strategist and an advocate for city governments.
The Hours: The target is 1,800 annual billable hours. We aren't interested in the "Big Law" burnout culture; we want a seasoned professional who can maintain a steady trial pace without sacrificing their personal life.
The Schedule: You’ll spend the first two weeks in the Orange County office for onboarding. After that, the firm supports a hybrid model that provides the flexibility modern attorneys need.
The Requirement: You must have 10+ California jury trials to verdict. This is non-negotiable. Our clients expect a veteran presence in the well of the court from Day 1.
