American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit assignment with telemetry and corrections experience, requiring an active OH or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a corrections Progressive Care Unit within a secure, locked environmentFloat to Oncology Medical-Surgical units as neededAssigned to care for both oncology and non-oncology inmate patientsNurse to patient ratio is 1 : 3 for PCU and 1 : 4-5 for MS unitsShifts may be day or night, 12 hours each, with schedule determined every 4 weeksUses Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication administrationSome assignments may require rotation between days and nights based on unit needsProvide care to inmates with oncology and non-oncology diagnoses, including solid tumors, hematology, surgical cases, COPD, sepsis, and pneumoniaMust maintain staff safety in a secure corrections environmentSupport from pharmacy, physical therapy, rapid response teams, respiratory services, and other provider services is availableRTO (time off) requests must be included in the contract at submissionFormer employees are eligible if separated from the facility for 6 months or more; current employees are not eligibleHoliday and weekend shifts may be required based on department needsLocals are accepted at the same rate as travelersAll candidates must complete an OH fingerprinting process promptly after contract signing\n \n Requirements\n
Active OH or compact RN license in handGraduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing programCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationEpic charting experience requiredExperience with medical-surgical and telemetry nursing skillsAbility to interpret and manage dysrhythmiasExperience with central line, PICC, and IV management, including starting IVs and blood product administrationAbility to provide care for patients with feeding tubes, dialysis, PCA, respiratory support and tracheostomy managementTwo professional references required, with at least one from a supervisor, manager, or other formal leader\n Benefits\n
