This is supervisory and technical work in the maintenance and construction of various public utilities projects.
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED and three years of clerical or office experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of public utilities construction and maintenance methods and techniques and their application to various public utility projects is required, along with knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials used in public utilities construction and maintenance. Knowledge of the operating and maintenance characteristics of light and heavy mobile equipment used in public utilities construction and maintenance is also necessary. Additionally, knowledge of supervisory principles and practices, occupational hazards and safety precautions, departmental policies and procedures, and the geographical layout of the City are essential. The ability to supervise subordinates, read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams, and keep records and prepare reports is required.
