Job Description
Provide hands-on research and engineering support to ARL's Electromagnetic Effects Branch within the EMSS Division for materials development, additive manufacturing, and testing activities related to advanced sensor and microsystems engineering.
The Materials Engineer (Student) supports Army R&D in additive manufacturing and materials science for micro- and macro-scale applications. Responsibilities include designing, fabricating, and characterizing advanced materials and components; supporting research on novel composites, MEMS structures, and energy-related materials; and assisting with data collection, laboratory operation, and test documentation. The position contributes directly to ongoing R&D under the Electromagnetic Effects Branch, working closely with mechanical and electrical engineers and materials scientists to prototype, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and materials performance.
