Great Leadership Opportunity
Mid-Size Retail / Commercial general contractor looking for an immediate full-time Assistant Estimator to estimate and prepare proposals for projects ranging from 200k to 15 Mil. Position requires candidate to have knowledge of all trades, read and understand blueprints, be able to multi task, create appropriate sub lists, attend site visits, create and distribute plans to subs, assist in sourcing materials and appropriate subcontractors, review / analyze / qualify bids from subcontractors for accuracy, knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Excel and Procore software, and other duties as required. Strong communication and organizational skills a must. Projects are located in NY Metro, LI, NJ, CT. This is mainly an office position based out of Massapequa, NY.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Establish estimates for projects, including labor, supplies, materials and other ancillary costs Represent the company in a courteous and professional manner. Ability to work as a team member and manage all trades and personalities to the benefit of the project. Communicate clearly and effectively with project management and clients. Assist estimator by performing quantity take-offs, sub list management and subcontractor contact, research on various systems and products, document management, and keeping accurate records. Provide support in developing scope gaps against scopes of work, leveling subcontractors and the preparation of handoff documents or post-bid cleanup. Attend site visits for bid walkthroughs with clients and subcontractors. Setup projects in Procore - upload, distribute, and track bid packages QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Computer knowledge with Microsoft and Apple products, Procore High sense of accountability and ability to handle multiple priorities at once. Strong written and verbal communication skills. High School Diploma required. Some college a plus 2+ years of commercial estimating experience PREFERRED SKILLS CPR Training, First Aid, OSHA training
