Position Overview

Provides leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care on the Psychiatric unit. Utilizes the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient and family care and education. Effectively communicates pertinent patient / family information to the healthcare team and participates in solutions to variances from patient goals.

Requirements

Licensure :

Active Michigan State RN License – Required (must be in hand at submission)

Experience :

Clinical knowledge and ability to formulate nursing care plans in Psychiatric setting – Required

Ability to perform diverse professional nursing services and communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff

Certifications

BLS (AHA) – Required

Education

Graduation from accredited school of nursing – Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) – Preferred

Core Skills & Competencies

Psychiatric nursing care including de-escalation techniques (training provided)

Ability to work varied shifts as scheduled

Cross-training in Psychiatric Assessment Services provided

Unit : Psychiatric Unit

Patient Age Groups : Adults

Patient Ratios : Not specified

Scheduling

3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM)

Schedule varies by RN :

1 RN : Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday

2 RNs : Opposite schedules covering Sunday, Thursday, Friday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday
