Shift : 07 : 30 - 18 : 00, with variations based on departmental needs. Must be willing to work 8x5 and 4x10 as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) will be responsible for providing exceptional care to surgical patients recovering from anesthesia. The role involves monitoring patient vitals, administering medications, and ensuring a safe and comfortable recovery environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess patient condition post-anesthesia.
  • Provide care for post-operative surgical patients, primarily those with general anesthesia.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic health record (Meditech).
  • Assist with patient education and post-operative instructions.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience required.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
  • ICU experience is preferred.
