Job Description

The Nevada Center for Surveys Evaluation and Statistics at the University of Nevada Reno is recruiting temporary / part-time hourly English and bilingual English / Spanish data collectors for The School of Public Health and the State of Nevada.

This Job Opportunity is a resume-builder and has potential for co-authorship on research papers and reports coming out of the School of Public Health in relation to the survey data collected. It provides valuable research experience and workplace skill sought by a number of employers especially in the research and public health sector.

Responsibilities

Collect CDC-sponsored behavioral health data over the telephone in accordance to protocol outlined by state and national clients

Utilize computer-guided telephone interviewing and data entry skills obtained during training to contact the public

Provide informed consent to garner participation in the study

Conduct the standardized interview

Enter data accurately into the computer system

Required Qualifications

Candidate has graduated from high school or equivalent

Candidate must have a friendly phone voice and demeanor

Candidate must have strong verbal and written skills in English

Candidate m ust be able to work in person on the main UNR campus over semester breaks (Winter Spring Summer)

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual English / Spanish speakers are strongly encouraged to apply and will receive an additional 25-cents hourly

Schedule

20-25 self-scheduled hours following provided guidelines and hours of operation;

Monday Thursday : 1pm-9pm

Friday : 1pm-7pm

Saturday Sunday : 10am-5pm

• Must be able to work until closing for a majority of shifts.
• Must be able to work one weekend shift per week (Sat or Sun).

Compensation Grade

Temporary Research

Pay starts at $14 hourly during training with a $1 raise after completion of training and employment evaluation. There is always strong potential for promotion into a supervisory role with commitment to our job requirements and dedication to quality survey research.
