Utility Installation Foreman
The Utility Installation Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating utility maintenance operations in the highway, roads, new construction, and excavating industry. This role ensures that utility systems are installed according to project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The Foreman leads a team of laborers and equipment operators to ensure timely and efficient completion of utility-related tasks. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises utility installation crews and assigns daily tasks. Provides guidance and training to crew members. Ensures compliance with safety and operational procedures. Duties / Responsibilities Plans and oversees utility installation activities. Coordinates with project managers and engineers to ensure proper execution of utility work. Inspects work sites to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Operates and supervises the use of heavy equipment for utility excavation and installation. Maintains accurate records of work performed, materials used, and crew hours. Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to utility systems and infrastructure. Ensures proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills / Abilities Strong leadership and team management skills. Thorough understanding of utility systems and installation procedures. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in operating heavy equipment and tools. Ability to work in outdoor and physically demanding environments. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in utility installation, repair, maintenance or other related construction operations. 2 Years of experience in supervising crews and managing utility projects preferred. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times. Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and loud machinery. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
