Radiation Therapist
The Radiation Therapist performs simulations and administers radiation therapy treatments to patients under the general supervision of the Manager, Radiation Therapy Services, with direction from the Radiation Oncologist. Accurately operates highly sophisticated equipment, maintains accurate, detailed patient records pertaining to treatment delivery, patient care, and charge capture. Monitors patient progress, managing side effects, and ensures patient safety and comfort throughout the treatment process. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills to encourage and promote teamwork with staff, physicians and all employees. Demonstrates knowledge, skill, and professionalism while providing the highest standards of patient care.
Qualifications and RequirementsHigh school diploma, or equivalent, required. Bachelor’s or Associates degree from an approved two (2) year Radiation Therapy program required. Current Hawaii State license for Radiological Technologist as a Radiation Therapist and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required; or any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position. Heartsaver CPR AED required, with retraining once every two years.
