About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Profession : RN (Registered Nurse)

Shift : 12H Nights EOW, nights, First to Float

Hours per Shift : 12 hours per shift

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : Required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have :

• Experience reading basic telemetry strips
• Experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients
• Experience with CVA and TIA patients

Description :

This position requires working in a telemetry unit.

The unit has 48 beds split between two sections.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5.

Common diagnoses include COVID-19, respiratory issues, gastrointestinal issues, diabetes, TIA, CVA, general surgical, orthopedic, and spinal surgical patients.

Nurses will interpret telemetry strips and sign them at least once per shift.

Telemetry is monitored remotely; however, nurses are responsible for reading and interpreting strips.

Charge nurses do not take patient assignments.

Nurse aides are available on the unit with a ratio of 1 : 10-15.

Registered Nurses are required to float to other units if qualified.

Shifts run from 7 to 7 : 30 and include a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

Schedules are created using a self-scheduling method, balancing with the manager’s input.

Weekend work is required for two weekends per 4-week schedule.

Holiday work is mandatory for Christmas, New Year’s, and Thanksgiving.

Call or standby is not required.
