Job description

Scope of Position

As the Lead Software Systems Engineer you will be a security engineering leader for the company's next generation IoT platform. In this role, you will be a key contributor to a team of cross-functional product development engineers by driving improvements to our IoT platform’s security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead effort to obtain and maintain SoC2 Type 2 compliance for our IoT platform
  • Identify and communicate security gaps as well as best practices based on SoC2 compliance as actionable work items to the development teams
  • Collaborate with product management, architecture, and product security teams to elicit, decompose and manage our IoT platform’s requirements
  • Identify, analyze and communicate program risks
  • Regularly review and evaluate our IoT platform’s security posture with the company's Product Security Team
  • Lead Technical Design Reviews at all product development process milestones highlighting engineering progress, issues, and risks
  • Contribute to defining interface control documents (ICDs) for next generation Allegion devices connecting to the company's IoT platform
  • Contribute to the Agile Release Train (ART) PI Planning ceremony, ensuring the agile software teams can meet the delivery needs required by the business and cybersecurity
  • Provide clear communication to technical team members as well as to other leaders and managers

Qualifications

  • BS in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • At least 5 years’ experience in IoT devices, access control, consumer products, automotive, aerospace, or medical
  • You have experience in Systems Engineering processes including design by requirements, traceability, and verification and validation
  • You have demonstrated experience leading project teams to deliver complex programs
  • You bring strong engineering project management skills, including : planning and organization, stakeholder management, risk management, change management, and clear communication
  • You can communicate effectively with both business leaders and development engineers
  • You are self-directed with high initiative and high achievement goals
  • You have knowledge of cybersecurity methods and protocols, experience with cloud service architectures (AWS, Azure) and mobile SDKs
  • You can provide technical coaching and mentoring
  • Experience with analyzing and decomposing compliance controls for SOC2 certification or other similar industry recognized certifications preferred
  • Travel requirements : 10%
