Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with Level 1 Trauma experience and an active IL RN license for a rotating day shift assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Operating Room of a Level 1 Trauma Center
  • Perform scrub and circulate roles for ortho, ortho trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery cases
  • Day shifts are 5x8 hours from 6 : 30 am to 3 : 00 pm
  • Every other weekend is required, with two weekends per month
  • One 12-hour call shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday, with no weekday call
  • Mandatory floating to meet facility needs, which may include floating to other units or facilities within a 50-mile radius
  • Uses Cerner EMR system
  • Preferred experience includes neurosurgery (crani and spine), open heart / thoracic, ophthalmology, ENT, bariatric, and gynecology
  • Navy blue scrubs provided by the facility
  • Team-based model support provided when floated outside primary competency
  • Strict compliance and documentation deadlines must be met
  • Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
  • No block scheduling or special scheduling requests allowed
  • Time off is limited to 5 days maximum, with no more than 2 consecutive days, and no RTO on weekends, holidays, or immediately before / after a holiday
  • Failure to adhere to floating or compliance requirements may result in contract cancellation

    • Requirements

  • Active IL RN license (no pending licensure)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of 2 years recent acute care Operating Room experience
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Experienced with both scrub and circulate roles
  • Experience with ortho, ortho trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery procedures required
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to start
  • Must live within 75 miles of the facility for consideration
